Research, experiments and technical developments by Prof. Alaric Hamacher and the 3D Film Lab at Kwangwoon University exploring technologies for cinema, stereoscopic 3D, virtual production, immersive media, digital holography and spatial imaging.

The work covers camera and capture systems, optics, displays and projection, real-time graphics, tracking, synchronization, video processing, spatial computing, volumetric capture and computational imaging, with an emphasis on practical applications in media production.

Projects investigate both established professional systems and emerging technologies, including 3D and spatial displays, LED and projection systems, VR/XR hardware, virtual production infrastructure, light-field and holographic displays, Gaussian Splatting and new imaging workflows.

This section collects technical research, system development, testing and practical experiments aimed at understanding how new imaging technologies can be applied to professional production and future forms of spatial media.
