Research, projects and productions by Prof. Alaric Hamacher and the 3D Film Lab at Kwangwoon University in the fields of Virtual Reality (VR), Extended Reality (XR) and the Metaverse.
The work explores new forms of immersive and interactive media, combining VR filmmaking, 360° and stereoscopic capture, spatial video, virtual environments, real-time graphics and spatial computing with established principles of cinematography and visual storytelling.
Projects investigate both the creative and technological development of immersive experiences, including VR production, Apple Vision Pro and other head-mounted displays, virtual worlds, avatars, interactive environments and real-time 3D content.
This section collects research, productions, experiments and technical developments examining how VR, XR and Metaverse technologies are changing the relationship between the viewer, the camera and the virtual space.
